Hartford Yard Goats News Release
HARTFORD, Conn. (June 10, 2015) - The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club, the Double-A Eastern League Affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, announced today that Dunkin' Donuts will be the exclusive naming rights partner of the new Hartford ballpark, which will be called "Dunkin' Donuts Park." The announcement was made at a press conference this morning at Hartford City Hall. The Hartford Yard Goats will play 71 home games at Dunkin' Donuts Park beginning in April of 2016.
Hartford Yard Goats owner Josh Solomon, Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra, Council President Shawn Wooden, and Stadium Authority Chairman I. Charles Mathews hosted the ceremony at Hartford City Hall where Dunkin' Donuts Park signage and plans were revealed. The celebration also included complimentary Dunkin' Donuts coffee, donuts, and branded items for those who attended the announcement.
"We are pleased to announce our exclusive naming rights for America's next great ballpark and future home of the Hartford Yard Goats," said Team Owner Josh Solomon. "Dunkin' Donuts is a world-class brand that is loved by all and I can't think of a better partner to have made a commitment to the city of Hartford, the Yard Goats Baseball Club and the great fans of the region."
The plans for Dunkin' Donuts Park will include: Prominent Signage at the main entrance of the Park; a large, custom and unique sign display atop the gigantic video board that is interactive with game events; Dunkin' Donuts logo mowed into the outfield grass. Additionally, Dunkin' Donuts will be the exclusive coffee provider for the Hartford Yard Goats.
"Baseball is America's favorite pastime, and Dunkin' Donuts is America's favorite coffee, so bringing the two together in Hartford was a natural fit for us," said Molly Loh, Dunkin' Donuts Field Marketing Manager for Connecticut. "We are excited for the future of Dunkin' Donuts Park and looking forward to a great partnership with the Hartford Yard Goats and the City of Hartford, while we bring family fun to baseball fans in Connecticut."
Additionally, as part of a commitment to the local community, Dunkin' Donuts will sponsor a special branded seating section at the Park called the "Dunkin' Dugout." Thirty (30) tickets for every Hartford Yard Goats home game will be designated for Dunkin' Donuts and the Yard Goats to distribute to local community groups.
"We applaud the Yard Goats for hitting it out of the park by attracting such a high caliber national sponsor to Hartford," said Mayor Pedro E. Segarra. "The partnership with Dunkin' Donuts will benefit the team, the ballpark, and most importantly, the Hartford community. This commitment speaks to the strength of Hartford's revitalization, and the stadium will be an anchor for economic development for many years to come."
Dunkin' Donuts is America's favorite all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, selling more than 1.8 billion cups of hot and iced coffee and espresso-based beverages, and approximately 2.8 billion donuts and MUNCHKINS® donut hole treats combined globally per year.
