Medford, Oregon - 2014 Medford Rogue, Tanner Lubach, was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels in the 9th round of the MLB Draft. Lubach was taken 285th overall and is the highest drafted Nebraska Husker in four years.
Lubach wore a Medford jersey in 2014 and finished his time as a Rogue with a .361 batting average. He had 17 runs on 22 hits, 3 doubles and 1 triple along with 10 RBIs.
He was a home run shy of the cycle in a 4-6 loss against Bend on July 4, 2014. He scored 2 runs on 3 hits, including a double and a triple in 4 at bats.
During his senior season at Nebraska, he hit .312 and led the Huskers in slugging percentage with .441. Lubach was also tied for the team lead with 4 home runs. As catcher, he threw out 35% of base stealers and was charged with 2 errors and 2 pass balls during the season.
