Americans Eye Series Lead with a Win Tonight in South Carolina

Allen Americans News Release
Charleston, SC - The Allen Americans look to take a 3-2 series advantage tonight over the South Carolina Stingrays, when the two teams square off at North Charleston Coliseum. Puck drop is at 6:05 pm CT.
Allen is coming off a 3-2 double overtime win on Sunday night. Vincent Arseneau pumped home the game winner at the 8:49 mark of the second overtime to lift the Americans to an ECHL Kelly Cup Series tying win.
"We played really hard in the second overtime," said Arseneau, who scored his 4th goal of the postseason and the Americans second overtime goal of the playoffs. "We didn't like the way we played in the third period and first overtime, and made adjustments."
The Americans jumped out to a 2-0 lead quickly in Game 4 on goals by Dyson Stevenson and Greger Hanson, only 29 seconds apart. Allen led the game 2-1 after 20 minutes of play. The Stingrays would tie things up in the second period, and the score would remain 2-2 until the second overtime. Despite having to go to overtime to get the win, the Americans are 6-0 when leading after the first period this postseason.
The Americans penalty kill has been fantastic in the series, as the Stingrays are yet to score a power play goal (0 for 15). The Americans power play, however has been a different story, as the team has just two power play goals total in the playoffs (2-34), at just 5.9 %.
"We have been working at it with hopes to see better results," said Allen Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. "We need everybody to work harder and our top guys need to be better."
