Chicago Sky Roster Set for 2015 Home Opener

CHICAGO- Following the conclusion of training camp this afternoon, Sky Head Coach and General Manager Pokey Chatman has announced her roster to begin the 2015 regular season. Notable additions to the Sky roster include two-time WNBA Champion Cappie Pondexter and first round draft selection Cheyenne Parker, who combined to average 10.4 points per game during the preseason. The finalized roster also features nine returning players from the Sky's 2014 WNBA Finals appearance, including 2014 WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year Allie Quigley and Eastern Conference All-Stars Elena Delle Donne and Jessica Breland.
Under the direction of fifth-year Head Coach and General Manager Pokey Chatman, the defending Eastern Conference Champion Sky begin their 10th season, following the franchise's second consecutive playoff berth and deepest postseason run in team history, with a game on Friday, June 5 against the Indiana Fever. The game features two of the WNBA's top defensive teams and a rematch of last year's second round Eastern Conference playoff series. Friday will be the first opportunity for fans to give six-time WNBA All-Star and Chicago native Cappie Pondexter a warm hometown welcome. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m. CT at Allstate Arena.
Prior to the tip there will be a special unveiling ceremony for the team's 2014 WNBA Eastern Conference Championship banner and all fans will receive a replica mini-banner. Additional, activities include a Career Fair in Allstate Arena's Skyline Room and a halftime ceremony to honor a group of ten-year season ticket members. The game will broadcast on The U Too.
