St. Louis Attack Finish Season with a Win

May 31, 2015 - Major Arena Soccer League (MASL)
St. Louis Ambush News Release

St. Charles, MO - The St. Louis Attack finished their 2015 regular season with a win by defeating the Georgia Firebirds 55-8 Saturday night at the Family Arena. The Attack finish the season with a 5-3 record and may have earned a trip to the playoffs.

Attack touchdowns came from Jason Null, Daryl Grady, DeAndre Jackson and two each from Chris Headd and Johnnie King. Perhaps sensing that a return trip to the postseason was within their grasp, the entire team played with more confidence than they have displayed all season.

An announcement earlier in the day by the X-League would appear to have helped the Attack's chances to land a playoff berth. The Cape Fear Heroes, who were ahead of the Attack in the standings, have been booted from the league. Here is the official league announcement:

"The X-League has been forced to cancel the remaining league schedule for the Cape Fear Heroes due to the organization not being in good standing with X-League's guidelines and operations manual.

Michael Mink, Commissioner stated "This entire situation is unfortunate and regrettable for the league, fans, sponsors, and players. On the field teams should be competing, off the field we all need to be working together."

The X-League playoffs will be announced tomorrow Sunday May 31st. There will be more information forthcoming from the league as soon it becomes available."

St. Louis Attack ownership, players and fans can only wait to find out what lies ahead regarding the league's postseason plans. If the league adheres to the date in Saturday's release, that wait will not be long.
