New York Lizards News Release

Charlotte, NC - The New York Lizards have walked away with their seventh win of the season and a final score of 21-16 against the Charlotte Hounds. This is the highest scoring game for the Lizards in the 2015 season. With this win, the Lizards remain undefeated.

Rob Pannell, named the Coca-Cola Player of the Game, had seven points ( five goals and two assists). Paul Rabil came in right behind with six points (four goals and two assists). Tommy Palasek had a great game with five goals as well. The show-stopper, however, was rookie Ryan Walsh with an overall three goals in the first MLL game of his career.

Though the Charlotte Hounds started the game off with a two-point goal, the New York Lizards came back fighting. The Lizards brought in five back-to-back goals, one coming from New York's 2015 Draftee, Ryan Walsh. Walsh was acquired through the 2015 MLL Collegiate Draft, 2nd Round (11th pick overall) from Colgate University.

The first quarter came to a close with the Lizards leading 6-3.

Rabil, Pannell, Palasek and JoJo Marasco each had a pair of goals within the first half. Steve DeNapoli and Matt Gibson also netted goals to keep the Lizards afloat. New York ended the half with a strong four-point lead.

A slow start to the third quarter, Pannell scored two more goals bringing him to four consecutive points. Palasek finished off the third quarter with another goal at only four seconds remaining.

The final quarter of the game became a battle of the best between the two teams. The Hounds scored nine points with six goals in a strong attempt for a come back. The Lizards, though, were able to hold their own and keep the lead by adding seven more points in the last quarter.

A great defense was played by Goalie Drew Adams, who racked up 17 saves in almost 58 minutes in the net.

Rabil ended the game with his fourth and final goal giving the team a little breathing room to an otherwise stressful comeback attempt by the Hounds. His goal eventually sealed the deal for another Lizards win.

The undefeated New York Lizards return home at James M. Shuart Stadium on June 5th to play the Florida Launch at 7:30 P.M. game.

The first 1,000 fans in attendance for the June 5thgame will receive 2015 New York Lizards Player Trading Cards. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.
