May 30 Carolina Mudcats Game Information
May 30, 2015 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Carolina Mudcats News Release
The Mudcats picked up their first victory since May 11 last night after shutting out the visiting Myrtle Beach Pelicans 2-0. Tonight Carolina will host the Northern Division leading Wilmington Blue Rocks at Five County Stadium for game one of a five game series. RHP Andrew Waszak starts for the Mudcats tonight. He is currently 1-3 with a 3.94 ERA over seven games and three starts this season. He heads to the mound tonight in search of his first win as a starter and for Carolina's second straight victory.
Waszak is 1-0 with a 2.25 ERA over four relief appearances and 0-3 with a 4.50 ERA over three starts this season. He last pitched in Wilmington and suffered his third straight loss after allowing three earned runs on five hits over five innings pitched. The start was his longest of the season and he finished it with three strikeouts against no walks.
OF Joey Terdoslavich has been transferred to Carolina by the Atlanta Braves as part of a Major League rehabilitation assignment. Terdoslavich (ter-DOSS-lah-vitch) was called up last September by the Braves and was 3-for-10 with two doubles and two RBI over nine games. He also appeared in 55 games with Atlanta during the second half of the 2013 season and hit .215/.315/.266 with 17 hits, four doubles and four RBI. Terdoslavich is the first rehabbing Major Leaguer assigned to the Mudcats by the Braves since the new player development agreement was finalized this past off-season. He was originally placed on the disabled list on April 5 with a sprained left wrist. Terdoslavich was named to the Carolina League All-Star team in 2011 after batting .286/.341/.526 in 131 games with the Lynchburg Hillcats. He also had 52 doubles, 20 home runs and 82 RBI in 2011 with Lynchburg.
Today's game begins at 6:00 p.m. at Five County Stadium in Zebulon and will air on the Mudcats Radio Network with the pre game show beginning at 5:45 p.m.
