RubberDucks Hold off Erie 5-4

Akron RubberDucks News Release
The RubberDucks scored five first-inning runs and held off the Erie SeaWolves for a 5-4 win on Friday night at Canal Park.
Turning Point
Todd Hankins homered (#3) in the bottom of the first, followed by a run-scoring single by Destin Hood, RBI double by Jordan Smith, and two-run single by Tony Wolters to give Akron a 5-0 lead after an inning.
Mound Presence
Mike Clevinger (3-2) allowed three runs on five hits over 6.2 innings pitched while walking one and striking out five. Two of his three runs allowed came on solo home runs. RHP Jacob Lee picked up his first hold of the season with a scoreless 1.1 IP, and RHP Enosil Tejeda got his second save despite allowing a ninth-inning run.
Duck Tales
Akron hitters had 10 hits on the night, including four extra-base hits. SS Erik Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with a double, 3B Yandy Diaz went 2-for-4, and C Tony Wolters went 2-for-3 with two runs batted in. Todd Hankins hit his third home run of the season, and his first at Canal Park, in the bottom of the first.
Notes
CF Tyler Naquin extended his hitting streak to six games with a seventh-inning double (10-for-24, .417) and his .313 average leads the team...SS Erik Gonzalez also has a six-game streak (9-for-22, .409) and he leads the EL with 202 at-bats...RHP Mike Clevinger won consecutive starts for the first time this season and reached 100 pitches for the first time. His two home runs allowed are a season high.

The RubberDucks and Erie SeaWolves continue the three-game series on Saturday evening starting at 6:35 p.m. RHP Cody Anderson (3-2, 1.69) will face Erie's RHP Chad Green (2-6, 4.84). It will be the 30th anniversary celebration of "The Goonies" with special guest appearance by the film's star, Corey Feldman.
