Sweep slips away from Fightin Phils

The Fightin Phils (25-21) took a 3-2 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning and saw New Hampshire (23-24) walk-off with a win as they lost 4-3. Brock Stassi committed his first error on the season on a ground ball hit by Ian Parmley that won the game for New Hampshire as Cole Garner scored the winning run.
Tom Windle jumped out of the gate retiring seven out of the first eight batters before allowing a run. Ian Parmley doubled with two-outs in the bottom of the third inning off Windle. Then Parmely scored on a RBI double by Jorge Flores as the Fisher Cats would take a 1-0 lead.
Aaron Altherr led off the top of the fourth inning with a double off Fisher Cats starter Matt Boyd then would score on a two-run home run by Brock Stassi. The Fightin Phils would take a 2-1 lead behind Stassi's sixth home run of the season. New Hampshire tied the game at 2-2 off Windle in the bottom of the fifth inning as Ian Parmley would hit a RBI single.
Tom Windle left the game with one out in the bottom of the sixth inning as he walked K.C. Hobson. Reinier Roibal got Cole Garner to ground into a 6-4-3 double-play to close out Windle's outing. Windle allowed two runs through 5 1/3 innings off four hits with three walks and six strikeouts.
Brodie Green broke the 2-2 tie in the top of the ninth inning as he hit a RBI single off reliever Will Browning to score Aaron Altherr and give the Fightin Phils a 3-2 lead. Roibal gave up a game-tying solo home run to K.C. Hobson in the bottom of the ninth inning. Roibal left the game with one out and runners on second and third for Colton Murray. Murray retired Ronald Torreyes on a fly-ball to right-field.
The Fightin Phils will return home for a four-game series beginning on Friday night against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. First pitch is at 7:05 pm. Fans can listen to the game on CBS Sports Radio 1240 AM/98-5 FM and fightins.com beginning at 6:05 pm.
