LAKEWOOD, NJ - FirstEnergy Park has a new look in 2015 - an enormous new 1,879 square foot video board that marks the biggest upgrade to the ballpark since it opened in 2001. The board is the largest in the South Atlantic League and one of the largest and most sophisticated video boards in all of Minor League Baseball.

The new display screen is 54' wide x 34.8' high, more than four times the previous display. The total display space is larger than two Major League stadium screens and taller than five Major League stadium screens. This new video board takes the place of the previous screen and fits inside the current structure behind the left-field concourse.

The board, which is privately funded, has 1.13 million LEDs and a 15HD pixel layout that provides high density, clear and crisp imagery. This is the same technology used in 10 Major League stadiums.

"As we start our 15th season, this is a dynamic enhancement to the experience of every BlueClaws fan for many years to come," said BlueClaws Chief Operating Officer Adam Lorber. "This will immediately become a focal point for everyone at the ballpark and serve as an engine to develop the entire in-game program."

In addition to streaming HD content, the board also provides instant replay capability, speed pitch, live statistics, and much more.

"A new video board was something our fans had asked for and we are happy to bring this magnificent display to the Jersey Shore," said BlueClaws Team President Joe Finley.

Further, because of the value provided by the digital video board, several new corporate partners have joined the BlueClaws family.

The BlueClaws partnered with Daktronics, a leading designer and manufacturer of programmable digital displays, for the project.

"Working with the BlueClaws has been a great experience and we are very excited to unveil this new video board to fans this summer," said Peter Dunkle, Daktronics Large Sport Venue representative. "This new video board and display will excite the fans from the moment they see it."

The new video board will also enable the BlueClaws to hold a series of non-gameday events, such as a planned three-part movie-viewing series, which will be presented by Barnabas Health. The first movie night is June 29th when the BlueClaws will show The Lego Movie. Tickets are just $4 and on sale by calling 732-901-7000 option 2 or online at BlueClaws.com.

The scoreboard installation also included a re-make of the three-sided digital marquee on the corner of Cedar Bridge and New Hampshire Avenues outside the stadium. The marquee, like the video board inside the ballpark, Features a 15HD pixel layout for the high-quality display.

The BlueClaws are the Jersey Shore's top stop for affordable, family entertainment. They have led the South Atlantic League in attendance in each of their first 14 years of existence and 2015 marks their 15th season of providing family fun to Ocean & Monmouth Counties.

Tickets to all remaining BlueClaws home games are on sale by calling 732-901-7000 option 2 or online at BlueClaws.com.
