Boise Hawks News Release

BOISE, Idaho - What sounds more like summer in Boise than biking, hiking and Hawks' baseball?

Under new ownership and with a new major league affiliation, Memorial Stadium is undergoing substantial upgrades to enhance the fan experience and make watching a game an even more enjoyable family outing.

"We've put a lot of thought into what needs to be improved at the stadium and we hope that fans and guests can see our commitment to the ballpark and the team," said Missy Martin, Boise Hawks' partner and vice president of operations. "We have a lot of work to do, but we know fans, new and old, will have a better baseball experience when it all comes together on June 18 for opening day."

The Hawks are hosting a media open house at Memorial Stadium to show off the changes. Reporters are invited to attend on Thursday, May 28 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Changes include:

A brand new affiliation with the Colorado Rockies

Renovated and repurposed Hawks Nest - now the Coors Light "Purple Porch"

New Spectra Netting system (MLB quality) that allows for a much clearer view of the diamond

Re-branding of the concession areas

Updated speakers and an improved sound system

Three rows of new seats behind home plate

Removal of railings along third base to increase group ticket packages

Hiring of additional staff to improve the fan experience

New ballpark signage

Clubhouse and administrative office upgrades

Many new retail items

In addition to the Hawks, Agon Sports & Entertainment currently owns and operates the Augusta GreenJackets in Augusta, Georgia, Single-A Affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.

"It is an honor for us to be in Boise, and we feel so welcomed by this great city. Boise is a great sports town and we feel it deserves a great baseball team. We have learned from the many other teams we have managed in our careers, that a Minor League Team is all about the community that embraces it," explains Martin. "If you do the right thing for your community and your guests, you will have a strong team. Without community support we don't flourish. We are thankful and excited to have the opportunity to open the gates to the Boise community to enjoy the game of baseball this season and in the years to come."
