THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia and Lakewood played 14 innings on Tuesday with the Power outlasting the BlueClaws 5-2 in 14 innings. Alex McRae and Tyler Viza matched zeros over the first five innings before West Virginia plated two runs in the top of the sixth, keyed by a Lakewood error. The Blueclaws tied the game against Sam Street in the seventh. Both teams put runners on base in the eighth and ninth, but could not break the deadlock. In extras, each team had at least one runner on in each half inning except the Power half of the tenth. In the 14th, Jordan Luplow launched his second home run of the season and insurance runs crossed on an error and a sac fly. Junior Lopez earned the win for West Virginia, which was outhit 14-7 but still managed to win their fifth straight.

LONGEST RUN YET: Monday's victory was the Power's fifth in a row, giving the club its longest winning streak this season. West Virginia had won three in a row two other times prior to the streak, which dates back to May 22. This streak also matches the longest put together by the 2014 club, which won five straight from June 24 through June 28.

ON TO THE NEXT ONE: Tuesday's 14 inning game was the longest game the Power have played this season, both time and innings. It is also the longest game since West Virginia lost 8-7 at home against Lakewood on June 30, 2014. Infielder Adam Landecker surrendered a solo home run to Andrew Knapp in the top of the 15th to decide it.

NEVER DL'D: Dovydas Neverauskas was placed on the Power Disabled List prior to Tuesday's game with a right forearm strain. Neverauskas is 1-2 with a 5.17 ERA this season, but has a 1.38 earned run average over three appearances out of the West Virginia bullpen spanning 13.2 innings of work.

VIVAS LAS POWER: After placing Dovydas Neverauskas on the Power DL, Pittsburgh transferred reliever Julio Vivas from Bradenton to West Virginia. Vivas, since as a non-drafted free agent in 2011, was 1-1 for the Marauders this season over 15 appearances and held a 2.59 ERA. The right-hander skipped from Bristol to the Florida State League this season.

DOWN A LONG STREET: Sam Street's five innings of work Tuesday were the most in any one appearance during his career. Prior to this season, the Aussie had not worked more than two innings in any outing. Street has made 11 appearances this season, six of which have consisted of three or more innings.

NOTHING FREE: West Virginia's pitching staff has only issued 100 walks this season; second fewest of any club in the South Atlantic League. Only Greenville, 98, has walked fewer batters in 2015. The Charleston RiverDogs have walked a league-high 179 batters this season, including nine last night.

UNLEASH THE CRACKIN': West Virginia and Lakewood will play 12 more times this season, but not again in the first half after today. The Power hold an 84-67 all-time series record against the BlueClaws after winning eight out of 13 meetings last year. Since 2005, West Virginia has gone 36-28 at FirstEnergy Park. After this three game series, the Power and 'Claws will not meet again until late July.

POWER PROMO UPDATE- JUNE 2: West Virginia will host its first of two Pets in the Park this season at Appalachian Power Park on Tuesday, June 2. Fans are invited to bring their dogs, cats, and other ballpark friendly animals for a night of fun in Charleston.

POWER POINTS: Jerrick Suiter extended his on-base streak to 12 straight games with two hits last night... West Virginia's road record is even at 11-11. The club has not held a winning record on the road since April 21...

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh beat Miami 5-1 on Tuesday for their fifth straight win. Jeff Locke moved to 3-2 with help from a Neil Walker home run.... Indianapolis doubled up Buffalo 10-5. Casey Sadler worked seven innings in his fourth win... Altoona fel 6-4 at New Britain. Jhondaniel Medina was charged with a blown save and the loss... Bradenton lost 8-4 to Daytona. Miguel Rosario pitched a scoreless inning in his FSL debut.
