Today's Game
This afternoon, the Bisons take on the Indianapolis Indians in the finale of a three-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd is looking to avoid the sweep following Indy wins of 8-4 and 10-5. After a scheduled off day on Thursday, the Bisons will host the Rochester Red Wings for four games in three days at Coca-Cola Field.
vs. the Indians
The Bisons are 0-2 thus far against the Indians. Buffalo needs a win today to avoid their first series sweep by Indy since June 9-11, 1995 when the Herd was affiliated with Cleveland. These two teams will meet at Victory Field for three games, June 1-3.
Daniel Norris
LHP DANIEL NORRIS makes his fifth start with the Herd this season. The southpaw has not allowed more than three earned runs in any of his outings for Buffalo. Norris allowed three runs in four innings last Friday in a 3-2 loss in Toledo. Opponents are hitting just .244 with one home run in 82 at-bats against the lefty.
Dioner Navarro
Blue Jays C DIONER NAVARRO joined the Bisons on an MLB injury rehab assignment yesterday. The backstop was 1-3 with a double while spending seven inning behind the plate. Navarro has been on the Blue Jays disabled list since April 25 with a strained left hamstring.
Bullpen
Three Bisons relievers have shutout appearance streaks of five games or more. RHP GREGORY INFANTE has seven scoreless outings since May 8, a span of 11.1 innings. LHP ROB RASMUSSEN (7.2 IP) and RHP BO SCHULTZ (7.0 IP) have each made five straight scoreless appearances. The Bisons bullpen has a 2.76 combined ERA this season.
Luke Scott
INF LUKE SCOTT hit his first Bisons home run in yesterday's defeat. The veteran added a double and now has seven extra-base hits and a .537 slugging pct. in 10 games with the Herd. Scott has failed to reach base safely in just once since joining the Bisons on May 16.
Pitching Staff
The Bisons lead the International League with their 2.81 ERA. The group has thrown the 5th fewest walks (144) and the 2nd fewest hits (369) in the IL (407.0 total innings pitched).
Blue Jays Update
The Blue Jays (22-26) rallied with three in the ninth for a 10-9 win over the White Sox on Tuesday. Josh Donaldson hit the walk-off home run to send Toronto to their third straight win. The Blue Jays look for the sweep of the White Sox at Rogers Centre today at 12:37 p.m.
