Bradenton, FL - The Tortugas (27-18) scored six runs in the sixth inning to erase a 3-2 deficit and defeat the Marauders (22-23) 8-4 on Tuesday night at McKechnie Field. The decisive rally featured hits by the first five batters of the inning, chasing LHP Jayson Aquino (L, 2-3) and continuing against RHP Felipe Gonzalez.

CF Austin Meadows sparked the Marauders to a pair of early leads, singling and scoring a run in the first inning and driving in a run in the third with a ground out. LF Barrett Barnes capped the third inning scoring with an RBI double to put Bradenton up 3-2, a score that held until the sixth. SS JaCoby Jones was also instrumental in the first and third innings, singling twice and scoring a run. He finished 2-for-3 with two walks, while Meadows went 2-for-4 with a walk.

2B Erich Weiss reached base four times with three hits and a walk. He scored a run in the seventh to close the gap and walked in the ninth to load the bases with two outs. Newly minted Marauder RF Harold Ramirez lined out to end the game while representing the tying run at the plate.

NOTES: The game began after a 33 minute delay at 7:03 p.m. under partly cloudy skies, 86 degrees, and wind blowing 10 mph out to center field ... Harold Ramirez collected a hit in his first at-bat as a Marauder ... Ramirez has hit safely in 24 straight games; he hit safely in his last 23 as a member of the West Virginia Power ... The game was the first ever for the Marauders against a Cincinnati Reds affiliate ... Jayson Aquinio struck out the first three batters of the game but did not strike out any of the next 21 batters he faced.
