Frederick Keys News Release

FREDERICK, Md. -On Tuesday afternoon, Frederick Keys starting pitcher, Jhonathan Ramos, was promoted to the Double-A Bowie Baysox. He becomes the third member of the team to receive a call-up in 2015, joining Anthony Caronia and Jarett Miller. In a corresponding move, Miller was transferred back to Frederick after making a start for the Baysox on Monday.

Signed by the Orioles as a minor league free agent in late-March, Ramos went 0-0 with a 2.18 ERA over four starts with the Keys. In 20.2 innings, he allowed six runs (five earned) on 23 hits, walked five and struck out nine. His most recent outing came on Thursday night at Myrtle Beach. Working a season-high six innings, the southpaw allowed three runs on nine hits in a no-decision.

No stranger to the Double-A level, Ramos spent the majority of 2014 with the Pirates Eastern League affiliate in Altoona. In parts of three seasons at Double-A, the Venezuelan went 10-9 with a 4.23 ERA in 80 games (seven starts). Last season with Altoona, Ramos went 5-6 with two saves and a 4.38 ERA. He also made eight appearances at Triple-A Indianapolis, going 3-3 with a 3.72 ERA.

The Frederick Keys begin a seven-game homestand on Wednesday night when the Salem Red Sox come to town at 7:00 p.m. Left-hander Mitch Horacek (3-4, 3.63) makes the start for the Keys and will be opposed by Red Sox righty Denny Bautista (0-0, --). Wednesday is "It's Snow Problem Night" at Nymeo Field and the first 500 fans will receive a Nymeo Field grass seed giveaway. It is also "Stand Together for Kindness Night" presented by the Maryland Governor's Office for Children. For tickets fans can contact the Keys at 301-815-9939 or visit frederickkeys.com.
