Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks News Release

FARGO, N.D. - The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks have made three roster moves ahead of tonight's Home Opener at Newman Outdoor Field at 6:00 p.m. against the Joplin Blasters. The club has signed INF Mike Antonio, activated RHP Taylor Stanton and OF Drew Muren from the Inactive List and released RHP Randy Henry and INF Ryan Soares.

Antonio was signed on Sunday just prior to the RedHawks 12-5 loss to the St. Paul Saints. He had been released by the Saints earlier in the day. He signed with St. Paul after spending the past five seasons in the Kansas City Royals organization. In 2014, Antonio batted .265 with 24 doubles, two triples, nine home runs, 55 RBIs and 51 runs scored in 100 games between the Lexington (Ky.) Legends of the South Atlantic League (A) and Wilmington (Del.) Blue Rocks of the Carolina League (High-A).

Antonio was selected by the Royals in the 3rd round of the 2010 draft out of George Washington High School in New York City. In five professional seasons, he has batted .238 with 97 doubles, 12 triples, 32 home runs, 216 RBIs and 186 runs scored in 432 games. Antonio was 1-for-7 with a double in three games with St. Paul this year. He was 0-for-4 in his RedHawks debut last night.
