THE LEAD OFF: The Power beat the Delmarva Shorebirds 4-2 on Sunday afternoon. Yuedy Garcia shut down the Shorebirds over five innings for the win. Jose Regalado pitched the final four innings for his first save of the season. West Virginia plated a run in the third on a double by Tito Polo to drive in Elvis Escobar, added a run in the fourth on a Trace Tam Sing single that brought in Michael Suchy and capped the scoring in the sixth on Jordan Luplow's first South Atlantic League home run and a RBI base hit by Kawika Emsley-Pai. West Virginia took three out of four in the series with Delmarva, allowing nine total runs over the entire series, five of which crossed in the opener.

BULLISH PEN: Since May 10, the Power bullpen has been nearly flawless, owning a 1.25 ERA (8 ER/57.2 IP) in the 15 games played. Over 165 innings pitched this season, the West Virginia Power bullpen has an earned run average of 2.35 and has struck out 161 batters. The starting pitchers have combined for 194 innings, retiring 163 on strikes and hold a combined earned run average of 3.80.

UNLEASH THE CRACKIN': West Virginia and Lakewood will play 14 times this season, but only three times during the first half. The Power hold an 82-67 all-time series record against the BlueClaws after winning eight out of 13 meetings last year. Since 2005, West Virginia has gone 34-28 at FirstEnergy Park. After this three game series, the Power and 'Claws will not meet again until late July.

PROMOTED TO PLUNDER: Montana DuRapau and Miguel Rosario were promoted to the Bradenton Marauders on Monday. DuRapau went 1-0 with a 1.40 ERA over 11 appearances, spanning 19 and a third innings with 19 strikeouts and one walk. Rosario made nine appearances, including two starts, going 1-0 with a 1.75 earned run average, Neither player has appeared in a game above Low-A baseball in their career.

TARP TIME: The Pittsburgh Pirates have promoted Stephen Tarpley to the West Virginia Power roster. Tarpley was acquired from the Baltimore Orioles on January 27 along with Steven Brault for outfielder Travis Snider. The left-hander has been in Extended Spring Training and will make his South Atlantic League Debut today. Tarpley pitched for Aberdeen in the New York-Penn League in 2014, going 3-5 with a 3.66 earned run average over 13 games.

SUITER'S BACK: Jerrick Suiter was activated from the Power Disabled List on Monday morning. The infielder was placed on the Disabled List retroactive to April 29 after straining an oblique muscle. Suiter was batting .314 over 16 games in April with one home run and 11 runs batted in, which led the club at the time of his injury.

HOME SWEET HOME: The Power won their 16th home game of the season on Sunday. The 2014 edition of the club won 22 games at home all season.

POWER PROMO UPDATE- JUNE 2: West Virginia will host its first of two Pets in the Park this season at Appalachian Power Park on Tuesday, June 2. Fans are invited to bring their dogs, cats, and other ballpark friendly animals for a night of fun in Charleston.

POWER POINTS: The Power are 15-4 when scoring first this season... Right hander Austin Coley is among the league leaders in wins (6, T-1st), strikeouts (44, 4th), strikeouts per nine innings (9.07, 5th) and fewest walks per nine innings (0.82, 1st)... Saturday evening saw a season-best 5,455 fans enter the gates at Appalachian Power Park. It was also the highest attendance in the history of Redneck Night, surpassing the 2013 record of 4,001... West Virginia is now 12-3 when a Power player hits a home run in a game this year.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh handled the New York Mets 9-1 on Sunday. Francisco Liriano struck out 12 batters to help the Pirates cap off a series sweep... Indianapolis dropped a 5-3 final at Syracuse. Clayton Richard took the loss... Altoona blasted New Hampshire 11-3. Josh Bell went 4-5 and drove in four... Bradenton edged Lakeland 2-1 on Evan Chamber's Day. Steven Brault earned the win and Brett McKinney notched his seventh save.
