Thomas Named First Can-Am League Pitcher of the Week

DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Trois-Rivieres Aigles RHPKevin Thomas (pictured) has been named this week's Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending May 24.
Thomas' start on May 24 helped the Aigles salvage the final game of a four-game series at the Rockland Boulders. In six innings, he did not allow a run while scattering four hits. He struck out five and did not walk a batter. Trois-Rivieres went on to win the ballgame, 12-5. Thomas now sits at 1-0 on the season with a perfect 0.00 ERA.
This is Thomas' first season in the Can-Am League. He spent six seasons in the St. Louis Cardinals' organization, reaching the AAA level with the Memphis Redbirds in 2013 for four games. His best season came in 2010, when he carried a 2.27 ERA for the Advanced-A Palm Beach Cardinals in the Florida State League. Thomas struck out 94 opposing hitters that season while only walking 38. Additionally, in 2013, he made 46 appearances with the AA Springfield Cardinals in the Texas League. Thomas struck out 75 and carried a 2.56 ERA for his time in Springfield.
Before joining the Cardinals, Thomas played collegiately at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas.
The Aigles are off Monday, but open their home schedule Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. against the New Jersey Jackals at Stade Fernand-Bedard in Trois-Rivieres, Que. All Aigles games are available live and for free on www.canamleague.tv.
