SeaWolves Down Thunder 6-5

The SeaWolves were able to take game two of this four game home stand with Trenton by a score of 6-5.

The 'Wolves would open the scoring in the bottom of the first inning as Wynton Bernard would lead off with a double on a soft fly ball into right field. Bernard would move to third on a fly ball from Josh Prince, and then score on a single by Connor Harrell.

Trenton would answer just a half inning later as Danny Oh would belt his first home run of the year. The homer would score Jose Rosario would had reached on an error, putting Trenton up 2-1.

A Wade Gaynor solo home run (4) in the bottom of the second inning would re-tie the score up, knotting it at two.

Trenton would answer yet again two innings later in the top of the fourth. Jose Rasario would get the inning started with a double down the left field line. Cito Culiver would then single on a sharp line drive to center, scoring Rosario. Trenton would once again take the lead, 3-2.

Erie would capitalize with two runs in the sixth to take back the lead. Bernard would lead off the inning with his second double of the game. Connor Harrell would then step to the plate smashing his third homerun of the year over the wall in left. The 'Wolves would take the lead 4-3 heading into the seventh.

The SeaWolves would tack on two insurance runs in the bottom half of the seventh, which was led by a Wade Gaynor double. Drew Longley would reach on a bunt single, putting runners at the corners for Erie. James Robbins would then step in to pinch-hit for Brendan Harris and hit a double of his own. The double would score Gaynor and move Longely to third. Curt Powell would then get his first hit, and RBI in an Erie uniform, singling up the middle, and scoring Longely. Erie would take a 6-3 lead.

Trenton would put up two runs in the top of the eighth inning butting the Erie lead to 6-5. A Gary Sanchez two run homer would score Ali Castillo, who had singled to lead off the inning.

Erie would call on Jeff Ferrell to shut the door on the Thunder in the top of the ninth. Ferrell would strike out all three Trenton batters, closing the door on the game and evening the series up at one.

Miguel Sulbaron takes the loss on the mound for Trenton dropping to 3-2 on the year, while Josh Turely would pick up the win improving to 4-2.
