OTTAWA, ON (May 23, 2015) - It was a dramatic finish in front of the biggest crowd at TD Place this season as a brilliant strike from Nicki Paterson two minutes from time gave Fury FC all three point with a 1-0 win over Indy Eleven.

"We feel that we've been working so hard for this and it just feels good to get the win," said Ottawa Fury FC Head Coach Marc Dos Santos.

Ottawa controlled possession in the early stages as they tried to press through Indy's defence. Fury FC and Indy Eleven continued to trade chances through the first 20 minutes.

Sinisa Ubiparipovic produced a couple of first half chances and both Mason Trafford and Brandon Poltronieri had attempts on goal, but none were able to find that elusive goal.

While Fury FC were unable to score in the opening half, their defence put on a strong performance limited the Eleven to just one shot on target.

Tom Heinemann was introduced into the line-up to start the second half, returning from injury, as

Dos Santos looked for him for an offensive spark.

Romauld Peiser faced only two shots on the afternoon thanks in large part to another sound defensive performance from the quartet of Ryan Richter, Rafael Alves, Colin Falvey and Mason Trafford.

In the 80th minute, Fury FC captain Richie Ryan would make his long awaited return to the pitch in just his second appearance for Ottawa in the spring season and his first since the home opener on April 18. Returning from injury, Ryan's presence was immediately felt on the pitch as the skipper made several quality passes adding a need spark to Ottawa's offensive.

The scoreless drought was finally broken in the 88th minute when the ball fell to Nicki Paterson who launched a shot top corner past a diving Kristian Nicht before leaping into the jubilant crowd at TD Place.

Fury FC finished the game strong to take all three points as the climb the NASL standings into a tie for 5th with Altanta. Romauld Peiser collected his second straight shutout and third of the season.
