Denver Outlaws to Host Major League Eating Event at "Hero's Day" Appreciation Game Sunday

DENVER - The 2014 MLL Champion Denver Outlaws have partnered with local restaurant Illegal Pete's to host a Major League Eating event after their matchup against the Chesapeake Bayhawks on Sunday (7 p.m. MDT).
The competition will include four of the top-10 ranked Major League Eaters in the world including, Joey "Jaws" Chestnut (No. 1), Miki Sudo (No. 4), Adrian "The Rabbit" Morgan (No. 7) and Michelle Lesco (No. 9).
A total of 14 competitors will participate in the event alongside three amateur eaters, including Outlaws defenseman Michael "Tree" Simon, Colorado firefighter Jamie Markham and Sean Furlong, a contestant chosen by Illegal Pete's.
"I'm pumped to visit Denver to participate in this MLE event and take down some burritos," Chestnut said. "I'm equally fired up to watch the 2014 MLL Champion Denver Outlaws up close and in action at a great venue like Sports Authority Field at Mile High."
During the contest competitors will have a 10-minute window to consume as many 8 oz. burritos possible, supplied by Illegal Pete's. The winner will be awarded $5,000 provided by U.S. Bank, the gameday sponsor for that match.
As part of the Hero's Day appreciation game the Denver Outlaws will honor military personnel along with local police and fire men and women during the game. After the MLE event a fireworks display will take place at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
