New York Red Bulls News Release
CHICAGO, ILL (May 21, 2015) - U.S. Soccer announced the results of the fourth-round draw for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup field this evening. The Red Bulls will host an Open Cup match at Red Bull Arena on June 16 at 7:30 p.m., against the winner of the Atlanta Silverbacks and Chattanooga FC third round match.
Chattanooga FC, who compete in the NPSL, advanced to the third round after defeating USL outfit Wilmington Hammerheads on penalty kicks last night.
Atlanta enters in the third round with the rest of the NASL. The Silverbacks downed Chattanooga in last year's Open Cup, 5-0, on their run to the quarterfinals of the tournament.
Chattanooga will host the rematch next Wednesday, May 27, at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup is the oldest cup competition in American soccer. The tournament, now in its 102nd year, is open to all affiliated amateur and professional teams in the United States.
