FC Kansas City Soccer Club Merges with Futura, Blue Moose and Freebirds

PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kansas (May 20, 2015) - FC Kansas City Soccer Club announced today the union of four elite soccer organizations in the Kansas City area. Futura FC, Blue Moose Soccer Club, and Freebird Soccer Club will all be joining the FC Kansas City brand. The clubs' shared vision of player development and the creation of a "community" feel among their families helped energized the collaboration, and will lay the framework for the future of the club to come.

Within this union, Vlatko Andonovski will assume the role of Club Director. Vlatko is the head coach of the FC Kansas City womens professional soccer team - reigning champions of the NWSL, and head coach of the Missouri Comets - who posted and undefeated regular season record last year in the MASL. Joining Vlatko in Director roles will be:

- Goran Karadzov - Academy Director

- Todd Logan - North Director of Coaching

- Brad Childers - East Director of Coaching

- Keith Nelson - South Director of Coaching

Additionally, existing staff members in all four organizations will help form the infrastructure of the club. They will pool their resources together to provide the best program possible for youth players in Kansas City. The affiliation with the Comets and FC Kansas City professional teams will also play a role in the clubs' development by utilizing players' brand names, and their relationships within in the community.

- Regarding the four clubs uniting, Vlatko Andonovski said, "The members of all four clubs have really come together as one due to the shared vision and recognizing the potential that exists by working together."

- Futura founder Todd Logan said, "We are truly looking forward to becoming a part of the FCKC professional organization. The future is bright as we seek together to further the development of youth soccer in Kansas City."

- Freebird Director Duke Jones said, "Freebirds couldn't be more excited about joining forces with FCKC, Blue Moose and Futura. These four extraordinary clubs are going to create a premier youth soccer experience that will be the best in Kansas City."

- Blue Moose Founder Keith Nelson said, "One of the most exciting components of this venture is the common goals at the core of the leadership team and respective staffs. I'm confident our mission for creating a positive environment for youth in the area will be a success."

- On behalf of the FC Kansas City professional team, and the Missouri Comets, Huw Williams said, "We feel like the professional team(s) are lucky to have the support of youth soccer clubs from across the area, and this merger will only strengthen the sport of youth soccer in the community."

About Freebird Soccer Club: Freebird Soccer is an all-girls youth soccer club in Kansas City's Northland. They were established in the summer of 2011 to be affordable, family-friendly, and drama-free. Their philosophy is to build and grow competitive soccer teams by helping each player maximize their own ability - not only to have fun with the game of soccer, but also develop a team-oriented and winning mindset that will benefit them on and off the field.

About Blue Moose Soccer Club: The Blue Moose Soccer Club was founded in 2004 and is located in Prairie Village, Kansas. Blue Moose offers a competitive premier soccer program for girls and boys ages 6-15. Location is everything, and for the families and parents living in the surrounding areas, the club is a perfect fit. The Club provides quality coaching for kids that love to play soccer. The premier program has grown to over 25 teams in the U8-U16 age groups for the 2015/16 soccer year and participates in the Heartland Soccer Association (HSA).

About FC Kansas City Soccer Club: Founded in 2013, FC Kansas City Soccer Club's goal is to capture the atmosphere surrounding professional sports teams in an environment devoted to developing the "love of the sport" among youth players in the area.
