Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

Winnipeg Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced the following roster moves in advance of today's American Association Opening Day Roster deadline.

Infielder C.J. Ziegler has been traded to the Lincoln Saltdogs for cash considerations, while right-handed pitcher Jon Fitzsimmons, left-handed pitcher Taylor Bratton, and infielder Ben Bostick have been released.

The Goldeyes have 23 players on their Opening Day roster, including 12 pitchers and 11 position players. American Association teams are allowed to carry 23 players on their roster for the first 10 days of the regular season, after which rosters are reduced to a maximum of 22 players.

The Goldeyes conclude their 2015 exhibition schedule tonight on the road against the Wichita Wingnuts at 5 p.m. The start time has been moved up two hours because of incoming inclement weather.

Winnipeg begins the 2015 American Association season on the road Thursday, May 21 against the Grand Prairie AirHogs. Following four games in Grand Prairie, the Goldeyes will head back to Wichita for three games against the Wingnuts and finish the season-opening 10-game road trip with three games against the expansion Joplin Blasters.

The Goldeyes home opener at Shaw Park is slated for Tuesday, June 2 against the Sioux Falls Canaries. 0 0 1 234 1340 Wintergreen Financial Services Ltd. 11 3 1571 14.0 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE
