McElroy 2-Run Homer Helps Missions Split Series

MIDLAND--Casey McElroy slugged a tie-breaking two run homer in the eighth inning as the Missions gained a split in their four game series Sunday afternoon in front of 3,463 at Security Bank Ballpark.
The Rockhounds had scored twice in the seventh off reliever Aaron Northcraft to knot the score.
McElroy's opposite field shot was his first homer since opening night.
Trea Turner also added a two-run long ball as the Missions hit five homeruns over the final two games of the series. Turner extended his on-base streak to 17 games, during which time he's hitting .403-3-15.
Travis Jankowski collected his second four-hit game of the season to lead a 13-hit attack. San Antonio had 27 hits in winning the final two of the series after managing only 23 hits over the four previous contests.
NOTES: Starter Zack Segovia was promoted to AAA El Paso. RH Chris Smith joined the Missions from El Paso
