Bees to Celebrate Military Appreciation Night

SALT LAKE CITY (May 19, 2015) - The Salt Lake Bees will host their 7th annual Military Appreciation Night, presented by Cyprus Credit Union, on Saturday May 23, with discounted tickets, a military-themed fireworks show and a mini-bat giveaway. The Bees will also wear commemorative camouflage jerseys and caps in their game at 6:35 p.m. against the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Smith's Ballpark.

As a way to honor and thank the men and women of the United States Armed Forces for their service, the Bees are offering all military personnel and veterans a free reserved ticket to the game, with proper identification. Military personnel can also purchase half-priced tickets for their families at the Smith's Ballpark box office or by calling 801-325-BEES (2337).

Military Appreciation Night is part of the Bees organization's ongoing commitment to community outreach, health and wellness and youth development.

The first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive a Bees mini-bat in a free giveaway. Kids will also be able to run the bases in the Student Neighborhood Access Program (SNAP) Postgame Kids Run. A special military-themed fireworks show will take place at the conclusion of the game.

The game will be televised by KJZZ on channel 14 over the air and for Dish and DirecTV subscribers and on Comcast channels 3 (SD) and 657 (HD). The Bees can also be heard on 1280 The Zone Sports Network with the "Voice of the Bees" Steve Klauke providing the television and radio simulcast.

The Bees have an eight-game homestand on May 21-28. Tickets to all Salt Lake Bees home games, can be purchased at Smith's Ballpark box office, at all Smith'sTix outlets and Smith's Food & Drug Stores, by phone at 801-325-BEES (2337) or online at www.slbees.com, with no additional fees.
