Bees Can't Solve Rattlers' Pitching

(Burlington-IA)- After a pair of first inning runs, the Bees' offense was held in check by Wisconsin TImber Rattler pitching, in a 4-2 loss, on Monday night, at Community Field.
The Timber Rattlers wasted little time getting things started, taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning. With one out, Carlos Leal walked, giving Wisconsin their first base runner of the game. After a strikeout of Elvis Rubio, Dustin DeMuth dumped a single down the left field line, scoring Leal, putting the Timber Rattlers on top.
With one out in the bottom of the first inning, Erick Salcedo walked and then moved to second, two batters later, on a Zach Houchins single. Caleb Adams put the Bees in front, blasting a triple to the gap in right center, scoring both Salcedo and Houchins, giving the Bees the 2-1 lead.
Wisconsin tied things up in the third inning on a lead off homer by Alan Sharkey. Wisconsin took the lead for good in the fourth. Elvis Rubio and Dustin DeMuth singled back-to-back to start the inning. After Rubio was out at the plate on a fielders' choice, DeMuth came across on a groundout hit into by Tucker Neuhaus, putting Wisconsin on top, 3-2. The Timber Rattlers then padded that lead, thanks to a wild pitch, scoring Sthervin Matos, making the score 4-2.
The Bees offense remained quiet as the duo of Kodi Medeiros and David Burkhalter held the Bees scoreless from the second inning on, as the Bees came up short, 4-2. Medeiros (1-2) earned the win while Bees' starter Jeremy Rhoades (3-2) was charged with the loss and David Burkhalter (1) earned the save, thowing four innings.
