Senators Break out to Salvage Series

Harrisburg Senators News Release
Eight of the nine Harrisburg Senators starters reached base Sunday as the Harrisburg Senators beat the Trenton Thunder, 10-4. The win prevented Harrisburg (15-21) from being swept in the four-game weekend series.
Trailing 3-0 in the fourth inning, Harrisburg used a methodical four singles, two walks and a hit by pitch to score five runs and take a two-run lead. Five different players drove in a run during the frame. In the fifth, Harrisburg tacked on two more runs as Caleb Ramsey scored on a double steal with Brian Goodwin. Shawn Pleffner followed with an RBI double to make it 7-3, Senators. Pleffner picked up his third RBI of the day with an RBI groundout in the seventh inning. Goodwin singled in Ricky Hague and Brian Jeroloman in the eighth inning to round out Harrisburg's scoring.
Harrisburg scored their 10 runs on nine hits and seven walks. Mario Lisson extended his hitting streak to nine games with a 2-for-5 day. Goodwin finished 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Hague doubled for the 11th time this season - a team-high.
After allowing three runs in the first inning, Richard Bleier settled down for a solid outing. Only one of the three runs were earned, and Bleier did not allow another run to cross in his remaining five innings. Sixty of Bleier's 82 pitchers were for strikes, and he did not walk a batter. In his second MLB rehab appearance with Harrisburg, Erik Davis struggled to find the strike zone. Davis walked five batters, but allowed just one run in 1.1 innings of work. Davis left the game in the eighth inning with a 3-2 count on the batter and two men on. Abel De Los Santos walked the batter he entered to face, but allowed just a sacrifice fly and escaped further damage. De Los Santos then pitched a scoreless ninth to finish the game for Harrisburg.
Harrisburg have an off day tomorrow before beginning a seven-game home stand on Tuesday against Binghamton. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m. with Paolo Espino on the mound for Harrisburg. The game can be heard starting with the pregame show at 6:15 p.m. on Fox Sports 1460am, iHeart Radio, and on Tune In.
