TONIGHT'S MATCH-UPS

RHP Colten Brewer (0-1, 7.20) vs. RHP Robbie Dickey (No Record)

Brewer: Surrendered four runs on seven hits over 5.0 IP with 4 K and 1 BB in 5/10 L vs. CSC (6-5 Suns)

Dickey: Split 2014 with Hagerstown and Auburn. Went 1-0 with a 3.00 ERA in two games with Suns.

THE LEAD OFF: West Virginia put ten hits on the board but fell to the Hagerstown Suns 5-2 on Friday night at Municipal Stadium. The Power tallied the first run of the game with an RBI sacrifice fly from Taylor Gushue to bring home Cole Tucker. Hagerstown replied by scoring two in the first and adding runs in the second, third, and seventh innings. Alex McRae struggled on the mound by lasting just two innings while surrendering seven hits and four runs. In relief of him was Jake Burnette, who tossed 4.2 innings of hitless ball and struck out a career-high eight batters. With the loss, the Power are now 5.5 games back of the Hickory Crawdads in the Northern Division standings.

SUNS OF ANARCHY: The Power conclude their first-half series with the Hagerstown Suns with game four of the five-game set at Municipal Stadium. The Power are 4-4 against the Suns this season and currently trail the all-time series 77-65. The two teams will meet again in the second half of the season with a three-game series at Appalachian Power Park from July 14-16 and one more time at Municipal Stadium from July 25-28.

OH, WE'RE HALFWAY THERE: Tonight marks the 35th game of the season and the halfway point of the first half. West Virginia is currently in second place in the Northern Division standings but are 5 1/2 games back of the Hickory Crawdads. The Power will take on the Crawdads for the first time this season beginning on Monday night.

CAN'T REPLACE THIS SIMPSON: Chase Simpson is the only West Virginia player to appear in all 34 games this season. The infielder leads the team with a .298 average and 16 runs batted in. Simpson is also tied for the team lead with four home runs and his .422 on base percentage is also the best on the team and the second best in the South Atlantic League The most amount of games played by a Power player in one season was in 2008 when Caleb Gindl and Zealous Wheeler each appeared in 137 of 139 games played. During the Pirates-Power affiliation, the most amount of games played was Dan Grovatt and Mel Rojas, Jr., who each played 131 of 138 games in 2011.

B-U-L-L-P-E-N SPELLS RELIEF: West Virginia's bullpen currently has an ERA of 2.67 whereas Power starters hold a 4.17 ERA. Last night was another successful night for the Power relievers as Jake Burnette tossed 4.2 hitless innings and struck out a career-high eight while Miguel Rosario followed with 1.1 innings of shutout ball.

REYES THE ROOF: West Virginia second baseman Pablo Reyes went 0-for-3 with a walk and is riding an 19-game on-base streak dating back to April 23. The streak is tied for the fifth longest in all the league in 2015 and it's also the longest active streak in the league. During his 19-game stretch, Reyes is hitting .287 (19-for-66) and has a .382 OBP. Not far behind Reyes is Jordan Luplow who has reached base in 15 consecutive games. As a team, the Power have a .347 on-base percentage which is the best in the league.

POWER PROMO UPDATE- MAY 23: West Virginia will host Redneck Night IV on Saturday, May 23 at 7:05 p.m. when they play the Delmarva Shorebirds. Activities for the award-winning promotion include Redneck Idol, a camo hat giveaway to the first 1,000 fans, an appearance by History Channel's Appalachian Outlaws, and a pre & postgame concert by the Davisson Brothers Band.

POWER POINTS: The Power are 11-2 when scoring first this season...Cole Tucker is currently the best defensive shortstop in the South Atlantic League with just two errors and a .976 fielding percentage...The Power are 6-8 this month after going 13-7 during the first month of the season...Chase Simpson has the longest active hit-streak for the Power at four games

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh rallied to tie the game in the ninth in their slugfest against the Cubs but a Gregory Polanco slip doomed the Pirates in a 11-10 loss in 12 innings...Four different players on the Indianapolis Indians tallied a multi-hit game while Casey Sadler went seven innings in the Tribe's 9-1, rain-shortened victory...Zack Dodson tossed seven shutout innings and tallied eight strikeouts in Altoona's 4-2 win over Akron...Bradenton blew a save in the ninth inning and lost to Palm Beach 5-4.
