Calgary Stampeders News Release

The Calgary Stampeders have signed three international players - running back Tory Harrison, receiver Cory Mitchell and receiver Derrick Joseph. As per team policy, terms of the agreements were not disclosed.

Harrison originally signed with the Stamps on Aug. 13, 2014, and spent two weeks on the practice roster. He attended training camp with the National Football League's Green Bay Packers in 2010 and has played in the United Football League and Indoor Football League. Harrison played four seasons (2006-09) at Southern Mississippi and rushed for 1,620 yards and scored 24 touchdowns including 10 majors during his senior season.

Mitchell played 46 games over five years (2010-14) at Eastern Washington and caught 101 passes for 1,439 yards and 10 touchdowns. Mitchell also returned 26 kicks for 457 yards. His best season was in 2013 as he had 47 receptions for 699 yards and three touchdowns. Mitchell had five touchdown catches in 2014 despite being limited to eight games because of a collarbone injury. He played two seasons at Eastern Washington with his brother, Stamps quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell.

Joseph played four seasons (2011-14) at Towson and saw action as both a receiver and a kick returner. In 2014, he played 12 games for the Tigers and amassed 1,320 all-purpose yards including 303 on receptions, 861 on kickoff returns, 147 on punt returns and nine on rushing plays. He led the Colonial Athletic Association in kickoff-return average in 2011 and was a third-team conference all-star in both 2012 and 2013.

The Stampeders have released two players - national linebacker Yannick Carter and national offensive lineman Billy Peach. Carter played 24 games over two seasons with the Stamps and recorded 22 special-teams tackles. Peach dressed for three games in 2013 and spent the 2014 season on the practice roster.
