INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, May 14, 2015) - Following today's drawing by U.S. Soccer to determine host sites and pairings for this year's Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup third round, Indy Eleven Professional Soccer has learned it will host the winner of the Louisville City FC (USL) vs. Lansing United (NPSL) second round affair on Wednesday, May 27, at its home ground of IUPUI's Michael A. Carroll Stadium.

Kickoff for Indy Eleven's debut in the 102nd edition of the tournament is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Tickets for the match will go on sale tomorrow, Friday, May 15, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at IndyEleven.com and discounted group tickets for parties of 15 or more can also be purchased over the phone at 317-685-1100 or in person at the Indy Eleven front office, located at 47 S. Pennsylvania St., Suite 611 (Mon.-Fri., 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.)

Indy Eleven Season Ticket Holders should note that the May 27th U.S. Open Cup match will count as "Home Game 16" in their 2015 Season Ticket package.

"The U.S. Open Cup is one of country's most historically rich sporting competitions, and the entire Indy Eleven organization is again putting a great amount of energy and effort into it in 2015," said Indy Eleven president and general manager Peter Wilt, who was the architect of the Chicago Fire's (Major League Soccer) four U.S. Open Cup championship-winning teams between 1998-2006. "We look forward to our fans matching that intensity in the stands at Carroll Stadium on May 27."

The Louisville City FC vs. Lansing United second round matchup will take place at the East Lansing Soccer Complex in East Lansing, Mich., at 7:00 p.m. ET next Wednesday, May 20. Fans can follow that match via the @LansingUnited and @LouCityFC Twitter accounts, while general updates on the tournament can be found at the @OpenCup and @USOpenCup Twitter accounts and at USSoccer.com and thecup.us.

This year will mark Indy Eleven's second stint in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, which serves as U.S. Soccer's national championship tournament for all professional and qualifying amateur teams. Indy Eleven earned its first competitive win in club history by defeating then-USL PRO side Dayton Dutch Lions 5-2 at "The Mike" in the second round last May 28 before falling to Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew on June 17 in the third round, a heartbreaking 1-2 added extra time loss that was contested at the University of Akron.

The first round of the tournament kicked off last night, with two winners from play-in games as well as 40 amateur teams squaring off across the nation. The second round will commence next Wednesday, May 20, with the winners of last night's first round games taking on teams 21 clubs from the United Soccer League (USL).

In the event of an Indy Eleven victory in the third round, the "Boys in Blue" will then advance to take on one of 17 MLS clubs in the fourth round on either June 16 or 17. The drawing for potential fourth round matchups and hosts will be determined by U.S. Soccer following the playing of next week's second round.

The US Open Cup is one of the nation's oldest tournaments, dating back to the inaugural competition in 1914. It has been played annually since, with a winner crowned each year. What's at stake is $250,000 for the winner ($60,000 for the runner-up) and one-of-four spots for American teams in the 2016/17 CONCACAF Champions League. The team that advances the furthest from each of American soccer's lower divisions, including the NASL, will also earn a $15,000 cash prize.
