Seven Run Third Gives Greensboro the Win

Rome, GA - The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Rome Braves Sunday afternoon by a final score of 14-4 in front of 2,008 fans at State Mutual Stadium. Two seven run innings along with 14 hits was more than enough offense for the Grasshoppers.

The third inning was a big one for Greensboro as Arturo Rodriguez, Brian Schales, and Ryan Aper each had two run singles, K.J. Woods added an RBI base hit to put Greensboro in business 7-0. The Grasshoppers put another seven runs on the board in the fifth for the 14-0 lead. Rome scored twice in the sixth on a bases loaded walk and an RBI groundout by Braxton Davidson and added another run in the seventh on an RBI single by Jordan Edgerton. Rome added a run in the ninth for the 14-4 final. All 14 hits by Greensboro were singles. Grasshopper's reliever Scott Squier (2-3) gets the win and Daniel Cordero (0-1) the loss.

Roster Move: Rome has placed INF Tanner Krietemeier on the disabled list with a lower leg strain and has activated INF Matt Tellor from the DL. Roster is at 25 players.
