Calgary Hitmen News Release

Calgary, AB - The Calgary Hitmen Hockey Club is pleased to announce the selection of Tristen Nielsen with the 20th overall pick in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.

Nielsen is a 5-9, 168-pound, 15-year-old centre from Fort St. John, BC. He played with Edge School (CSSHL) this past season in the Bantam Prep Division where he served as team captain and tallied 97 points (59g, 38a) in 52 games. He also had 133 penalty minutes while posting a plus/minus rating of plus-31.

"Tristen is a dynamic offensive player and tremendous skater who also plays with a physical edge," said Hitmen Director of Player Personnel Dan Bonar. "He's got some offence to his game, some speed, grit and plays in all three zones. We like the four or five things that he brings for sure."

Nielsen joins a growing list of Hitmen from Edge School including current defenceman Jake Bean and goaltending prospect Kyle Dumba.

The draft continues throughout the day at the Deerfoot Inn in Calgary.
