Prince Albert Raiders News Release

Prince Albert, SK - The Prince Albert Raiders are proud to announce the selection of centre Cole Fonstad with the team's first selection, fifth overall, in the first round of the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft.

Fonstad, a 15-year-old from Estevan, Saskatchewan, spent the 2014-15 season with the Estevan Bruins Bantam AA team where he recorded 36 goals and 31 assists for 67 points in 29 games. In 10 playoffs games, he scored six goals and four assists for 10 points. Fonstad also saw time with the Moose Jaw Generals in the Saskatchewan Midget Hockey League where he played five games.

"Cole is one of the best skating players in this draft. His stride is effortless and he is shifty and quick," said Raiders Director of Player Personnel Dale Derkatch. "He is a very skilled playmaker who can also score. What we really like about him is that he makes players around him better."

Fonstad was the first Saskatchewan-born player taken in the draft.
