Penn FC News Release

Harrisburg, PA - The Harrisburg City Islanders will end their longest road stint of the season against the New York Red Bulls II this Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m. in Red Bulls Arena.

Harrisburg was able to pick up their first road win of the season against Wilmington last week in their most impressive outing of the season. That was the third game in a row that the Islanders were able to collect points.

"Our match against Wilmington was our most complete game of the year. We had a very good first half and did what it took in the second half to get the result," said Islanders' head coach Bill Becher.

The Islanders got goals from three different players in the 4-0 win. Ken Tribbett scored the first two goals of his professional career. Jason Plumhoff and Brett Jankouskas also tallied their first goals of the year. In the backfield, Nick Noble held the Hammerheads at bay by stopping the only two shots he faced. Noble along with the defense have only allowed two goals in the last three games.

"We have improved each and every game and are eager to get three points on the road this weekend. The Red Bulls are also coming off of a big win Saturday, so it will be a great game to watch," said Becher.

New York is currently one point up on the Islanders in the table, but has played two more games. The Red Bulls won their last game but dropped the previous two.

Goalkeeping has been a struggle for the Red Bulls thus far, as they have had three different goalkeepers record minutes this season. Namely, Santiago Castano with the most starts including their last win against Pittsburgh.

Saturday will be the first of three meetings between the teams this season. They only played once last year when the Islanders won 3-1 on City Island. Pedro Ribeiro scored twice and Jamiel Hardware scored the third.

The Islanders will return to City Island May 16 to face the Charlotte Independence at 7 p.m. For more information on the Islanders please call 717-441-GOAL (4256) or visit cityislanders.com.
