Fargo Force News Release

FARGO, ND -The Fargo Force selected forward Blake Lizotte with the fourth pick overall, along with nine other forwards, seven defensemen and one goaltender in Phase 2 of the 2015 USHL Draft on Tuesday for a total of 18 draft picks.

Blake Lizotte, a forward out of Lindstrom, MN, spent the 2014-15 season with the Minot Minotauros in the North American Hockey League. In 56 games during the regular season, he posted 52 points with 14 goals and 38 assists with a plus/minus rating of +27. He added another 3 points in the playoffs through 6 games. Prior to Minot, Lizotte spent two years at Chisago Lakes High School where he played in a total of 57 games, scoring 24 goals and adding 53 assists for a total of 77 points. He is committed to St. Cloud State University following his junior hockey career.

Each year, the drafts are held in which every USHL team participates in several rounds to select players for the 2015-16 season and beyond. For Phase 2, USHL teams selected players from multiple birth years looking to fill their protected lists with players who will compete for roster spots for the 2015-16 season. Phase 2 continued until all USHL teams had secured 45 players on their Initial Protected List. That list includes affiliate players from the 2014-15 season, players selected in Phase 1, and players signed to a tender.
