Jackson Generals News Release

Jackson, Tenn. - The Seattle Mariners announced a minor league roster move affecting the Jackson Generals prior to their morning contest against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Monday. Infielder Tyler Smith was activated from the team's disabled list, while infielder Leury Bonilla was transferred to Triple-A Tacoma of the Pacific Coast League.

Smith was placed on the disabled list April 23 and hasn't played since April 21 against the Tennessee Smokies. In his last four games played, he went 4-for-12 to raise his average from .174 to .219. Despite having only played in 11 games for the Generals this season, Smith is second on the team with 10 walks.

Bonilla came to Jackson from Tacoma to take Smith's place after the infielder from Thousand Oaks, California was placed on the disabled list. In seven games with the Generals, Bonilla hit .259 with two runs scored. He recorded a season-high three hits in Jackson's win over Pensacola on Saturday. He returns to Triple-A Tacoma, where he started the 2015 campaign.

Jackson's roster now has 25 active players with seven on the disabled list. An updated roster is attached.

The Generals go for their second-straight series win Monday morning in the rubber match against Pensacola. First pitch is at 11:05 am CT for Jackson's first School Day of the season. Tickets are still available by calling (731) 988.5299, stopping by the park or going online to jacksongeneralsbaseball.com.
