The Utica Comets announced today the dates for their matchup with the Oklahoma City Barons in the second round of the American Hockey League's 2015 Calder Cup Playoffs. In their Conference Quarterfinals' match-ups Utica defeated the Chicago Wolves in five games, while the Oklahoma City Barons swept the third-seeded San Antonio Rampage in three games.
The top-seeded Comets will play the sixth-seeded Barons in the Conference Semifinals' best-of-seven game series. Playing a 2-3-2 format, Utica will host Oklahoma City for Games 1 and 2, opening the series on Thursday, May 7th and Friday, May 8th, with both games starting at 7 p.m. at the Utica Memorial Auditorium. The teams will then travel to Oklahoma City for Games 3, 4, and if necessary Game 5, at Cox Convention Center at 8pm ET. If needed, the series will travel back to Utica for Games 6 and 7 at The AUD. All playoffs games can be heard live on 94.9 FM KROCK, the flagship radio station of the Utica Comets.
The two teams have faced each other twice this season, with each team winning a game apiece times. The Comets lost the first game in Oklahoma City 1-0 in OT, while the Comets defeated the Barons at The AUD 4-2.
Tickets to the second round matchup will go on sale Monday at The AUD's Box Office starting at 10am, and then online at TicketMaster.com at 12 noon.
Season ticket holders who signed up for the 'pay-as-you-play" option can pick up their season tickets at the Comets office during normal business hours.

Eight teams in each conference qualify for the Calder Cup playoffs, with the three division winners in each conference seeded first through third by order of regular season points. The next five teams, in order of regular season points, will be seeded fourth through eight. Home ice advantage is given to the higher seeded team in each playoff match-up.
The Conference Semifinals, and the Conference Finals are a best-of-seven series. Teams are reseeded according to the same criteria as the Conference Quarterfinals, with division leaders seeded first, and granted home ice advantage, while remaining teams will be seeded in order of regular season points.
The Calder Cup Finals are also a best-of-seven series, with home ice determined by the higher number of points in the final standings at the end of the Schedule of Championship Games.
