(Toledo, OH) Kyle Bonis scored twice as the Walleye ran away from Fort Wayne 4-1 Friday night at the Huntington Center. Toledo leads the best of seven series 1-0 with game two coming Saturday night in Toledo.

After a scoreless first period, Toledo struck first when Tyler Barnes (2nd) sent a one-timer past Fort Wayne goaltender Roman Will at 2:48. Justin Daniels collected his first of the playoffs at 15:23 when he finished off a pass from A.J. Jenks.

The Komets closed to within one as they picked up a shorthanded goal at 16:40 of the second. At 9:55 of the third period Kyle Bonis (4th) deflected a Jenks shot that went under the arm of Will to give the Walleye a 3-1 lead. Bonis also collected the empty net goal with 12 seconds left to finish the scoring.

Walleye Notes: Goaltender Jeff Lerg had 21 saves on the 22 shots he faced as Toledo out shot Fort Wayne 30-22 in the game. Kyle Bonis has 4 goals in the last two games. The shorthanded allowed was the third surrendered this postseason for Toledo, they allowed just one in the regular season.
