Enrique Burgos Becomes 52nd Osprey Alum to Reach Majors

MISSOULA, Mont. - The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that pitcher Enrique Burgos (2009, 2011) will join the D-backs and become the 52nd Osprey alum to reach the Major Leagues.
Burgos started the 2015 season with the Double-A Mobile BayBears. He pitched 6.2 innings with nine strikeouts, a 1.200 WHIP, and did not allow a run. The 24-year-old played for two seasons in Missoula and made 26 starts. As an Osprey, he struck out 104 in 111.1 innings. In 2009, Burgos and ranked tied for first on the squad in strikeouts (61) with Charles Brewer.
On April 24, former Osprey Rey Navarro (2007-08) made his MLB debut for the Baltimore Orioles and became the 51st Osprey to reach the show.
In two seasons with Missoula, Navarro hit .254. He led the 2008 Osprey with 17 stolen bases and 17 doubles. Additionally, he ranked tied for first with Alberto Diaz in triples (7).
The Osprey will open their home season on Wednesday, June 24, against the Helena Brewers.
