Windsor Express News Release

(WINDSOR, ON) One game will decide the 2015 NBL Championship.

The Windsor Express mustered another incredible comeback on their way to a 119-112 victory over the Halifax Rainmen in Game 6 of the NBL Finals, tying the series at 3-3 and forcing a Game 7 on Thursday night.

Windsor threw the first punch, gaining a 32-28 lead after the first quarter, but things took a turn in the second.

The Rainmen flipped the script on the Express, evening the game at 36-36 and launching into a 21-9 run, putting themselves up 12 at the moment and keeping that advantage at the break, leading 63-51.

But Windsor pulled another rabbit out of a hat and escaped defeat controlling the third quarter 34-22, erasing a deficit of as much as 15 to send the game into the final frame with an 85-85 score.

Halifax took a 90-88 lead early in the fourth quarter, but that would be their last.

The Express built up a lead they would never relinquish and sent the WFCU Centre into pandemonium in the final seconds.

"We are believers. That's our motto." Head Coach and Director of Basketball Operations, Bill Jones stated after the game. "In the second half we put in a group that gave us some energy and from there the crowd took over. This is what we've been working for, playing at home, and our crowd was great tonight."

Quinnel Brown led the Express with 30 points, while Tony Bennett had 22 (17 in the second half) and Kirk Williams Jr chipped in with 20.

Jamarcus Ellis also contributed important minutes off the bench and nearly recorded a double-double with 12 points and 9 rebounds.
