Seattle Reign FC News Release
SEATTLE, WA (April 28, 2015) - Western Sydney Wanderers (WSW) of the Westfield W-League in Australia announced today that Keelin Winters won the team's Golden Boot award in addition to being named WSW's Player of the Year.
Winters finished the 2014-15 Westfield W-League season with five goals in 11 matches and 990 minutes.
Winters was loaned to the Western Sydney Wanderers after the conclusion of the 2014 NWSL season.
While the young side finished their season last in the league, Winters was a pivotal member that offered valuable leadership with her experience and skills.
"I played a different role with WSW than I play at Reign FC. It was more of an attacking midfielder which is what the coach had asked of me and what the team needed," said Winters. "I want to thank my coaches and my teammates for all the hard work they put in during the season."
The Reign FC captain is in her third season with Seattle and has played 180 minutes thus far in 2015. Winters was a staple member of the 2014 NWSL Shield winning side in which she made 25 appearances and scored three goals.
Reign FC host the Washington Spirit on Saturday, May 2 on the Moda Pitch at Memorial Stadium. The match kicks off at 7 p.m. (PT) with a live, high-definition webstream available at YouTube.com/NWSL
