Cole Works Six Innings in 3-0 Loss to Mets

MANCHESTER, NH-- - Starter Taylor Cole worked a season's best six innings, but Binghamton salvaged the final game of a four-game series with a 3-0 win over the Fisher Cats before 6,245 on Sunday afternoon at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Binghamton (9-8) hit home runs in the first two innings to account for all the scoring. Jared King led off the game with a solo shot, his second of the season.

The Mets extended the lead to 3-0 in the top of the second inning. Dustin Lawley walked and Xorge Carrillo homered off Cole (LP: 0-2). Cole settled down after the rough start, completing six innings. He allowed six hits, walked two and struck out five.

Jon Berti, Ryan Schimpf, Pierce Rankin and Melky Mesa each had a single for the Fisher Cats (9-9). Mesa extended his hit streak to nine games.
