Mobile BayBears News Release

MONTGOMERY, Ala - The Mobile BayBears capped off their five game road trip with a 2-1 victory over the Montgomery Biscuits at Riverwalk stadium Friday night. The Biscuits took the three game series 3-2 but the BayBears salvaged the series with the win Friday to extend their streak of games at or above the .500 mark to 238. The last time Mobile had sub .500 record was May 30, 2013 when the team was 26-27.

Mobile got to Biscuits starting righty and former BayBears pitcher Bradin Hagens in the top half of the fifth. Tom Belza reached on a single to begin the frame then Mark Thomas drove in the BayBears first two runs of the game on one swing with a two-run homer to left. The long ball was Thomas' second of the season.

The Biscuits cut the BayBears 2-0 lead to just one in the bottom half of the inning. Cameron Seitzer led-off with double and then scored on a two-out RBI single from Tommy Coyle.

RHP Brandon Sinnery (1-1) earned his first Double-A win with a strong showing on the mound. The righty allowed just one run on five hits, walking three and striking out six in 6.2 innings, throwing a total of 108 pitches. The 6.2 innings were the most innings thrown by a BayBears starter this season. RHP Enrique Burgos retired the side in the ninth inning to record his league-leading fifth save of the season.

The BayBears will return home to Mobile for the next homestand at Hank Aaron Stadium beginning on Saturday, April 25-April 29 against the Mississippi Braves.
