TGIF (TRENTON LEADS SERIES 1-0):The Sea Dogs and Trenton Thunder (Yankees affiliate) play game 2 of their four-game series on Friday night at Hadlock Field...Portland has dropped four of their last five games, and are four games under .500 for the first time since the end of the 2013 season...Trenton has won four of five in the season series...Mike McCarthy beat the Thunder six days ago in Trenton, Luis Severino beat Portland on April 19th at Arm & Hammer Park.
TWO OUT RUNS: Trenton scored four runs with two outs, taking the series opener, 5-0 over the Sea Dogs on Thursday night...Caleb Smith (1-2) worked five scoreless frames on 4 hits, 2 walks and 5 strikeouts to notch the win...Mike Augliera (0-3) suffered his third straight loss, allowing a career-high 5 walks on 11 hits, 5 runs (4 earned) over 4.2 IP...Dante Bichette Jr., Greg Bird, Jake Cave and Eric Jagielo all had RBIs in the win for Trenton...Portland had 10 baserunners, but finished 0-for-9 with runners-in-scoring position.
