April 20, 2015 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
LA Galaxy News Release
CARSON, Calif. (Monday, April 20, 2015) - The LA Galaxy will train this week ahead of an MLS Regular Season matchup Sunday, April 26 against the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena with kickoff set for 2 p.m. PT (TV: ESPN; Radio: The Beast mobile app and ESPN Deportes 1330 AM). LA Galaxy II will travel for a USL match against Real Monarchs SLC this Saturday, April 25 at Rio Tinto Stadium beginning at 7 p.m. PT.
The Galaxy (3-2-2, 11 points) are 16-18-6 all-time against New York Red Bulls (3-0-2, 11 points), scoring 57 goals in 40 games. In their last meeting, the Galaxy earned a 4-0 victory over New York last year at StubHub Center, behind two goals from Robbie Keane and one each from Gyasi Zardes and Landon Donovan. Sunday will mark the only time the Galaxy face the Eastern Conference Red Bulls this year.
LA will look to hand New York their first loss of the season, as the Red Bulls are the only remaining MLS team to have not lost a match this year. This year at home, New York has gone 2-0-0 with victories over D.C. United and the San Jose Earthquakes.
The Galaxy defeated Sporting Kansas City 2-1 Saturday at StubHub Center behind a stoppage-time goal from defender Omar Gonzalez. The victory extended a Galaxy 26-game unbeaten streak in all competitions at StubHub Center.
