Evansville Otters News Release

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The Evansville Otters are proud to welcome Jake Donnelly as the team's Media Relations/Broadcasting intern for 2015.

Donnelly is joining the Otters after serving as the Director of Broadcasting for the East Texas Pump Jacks (Texas Collegiate League) in 2013 and Wilson Tobs (Coastal Plain League) last season. This is not Donnelly's first time in the Frontier League; he spent one summer with the Lake Erie Crushers as a Broadcasting Assistant back in 2012 working alongside Andy "Bull" Barch.

"Jake comes to us with significant collegiate and Frontier League broadcast experience," said Otters President Bill Bussing. "He will be a great addition to radio announcers Mike Radomski and Bill McKeon in the booth this summer."

Donnelly comes to Evansville with baseball experience both in the booth and on the field. He was a member of the 2008 Trinity College Bantams Division III National Championship baseball team and also served as a bullpen catcher for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Toronto Blue Jays-AA) of the Eastern League in 2011.

"We received many applications from Evansville, the state of Indiana, the Midwest region and across the country, but Jake separated himself as the perfect addition to our team," said Radomski, Director of Media Relations/Broadcasting for the Otters. "His baseball experience, knowledge of the game, enthusiasm, passion and versatility will be a welcome bonus to all of our fans this historic summer."

Evansville fans will hear Donnelly a lot this summer. He will be the road voice of the Otters, calling all 48 road games. In addition to calling to the middle innings for home games, Jake will also conduct pre- and post- game interviews. He will also assist with game notes, press releases, social media and feature articles for the Otters. Despite the heavy work load, Donnelly knows he can handle everything the Otters throw his way.

"During the interview for the position, Mike (Radomski), kept ticking off things he wanted his assistant to do," recalled Donnelly, "and when he finally stopped I thought, 'this is great, this is exactly what I want to do this summer, and this is exactly the type of guy and team I want to work for.' Thankfully Mike saw fit to give me this opportunity."

And this is an opportunity Donnelly truly craved, "this is one of the best jobs out there in all of professional baseball as I'll essentially be the guy on the road," he continued, "I'm so thankful to Mike and the rest of the Otters organization for inviting me into the fold this summer. I can't wait for the season to start and promise we'll all have a great time in the booth celebrating Bosse Field's 100th anniversary."

The Otters begin the 2015 season at home on Friday, May 15 when they host the Traverse City Beach Bums in a 6:35 p.m. game at Historic Bosse Field. Businesses interested in participating with the Otters can contact the team at (812) 435-8686.
