April 19, 2015 - Carolina League (CarL1)
Carolina Mudcats News Release

SALEM, VA - The Carolina Mudcats, the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and member of the historic Carolina League, announce that today's game in Salem versus the Red Sox has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on May 8 at LewisGale Field in Salem with first pitch scheduled for 5:05 p.m.

The Mudcats will continue their road trip on Monday night in Winston-Salem against the Dash. First pitch from BB&T Ballpark is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

Tyler Brosius (0-0, 5.40) is scheduled to start Monday's game in Winston-Salem. Matt Heidenreich (1-0, 1.50) is scheduled to start for the Dash in the first of 22 total meetings between the two clubs this season.

Monday's game will be aired locally on the Mudcats Radio Network (The Big Dawg 98.5 FM, Rock City 99.3 FM and Sports 1490 AM) and online via MiLB live streaming audio. Additionally, the broadcast is also available using the free TuneIn Radio mobile app or link on carolinamudcats.com.

Last night, the Mudcats left Salem with a 3-1 victory and did so behind a strong effort by starter Steve Janas.

Janas' second straight quality outing led the Mudcats (5-4) to their first road win of the season on Saturday night. Janas struck out five, allowed one run and scattered five hits over seven innings. Connor Lien, Carlos Franco and Joe Odom each drove in runs for the Mudcats in the win. Janas (2-0, 0.69) allowed a run in the second, but would go on to keep the Red Sox (4-5) without another run through the seventh.

Franco, Lien, Schrader, Connor Oliver and Johan Camargo each had two hits in the victory. Lien drove in his first run and picked up his first double of the season on Saturday night. Odom doubled in the game and collected his first hit and first RBI as well.

The victory snapped Carolina's three game losing streak and allowed them to leave Salem with a victory in what would end up being the final game in the series.

The Carolina Mudcats are the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Atlanta Braves. The 2015 "Braves New World" season is the first for the Mudcats as an affiliate of the Atlanta Braves and their fourth straight in the historic Carolina League. First established in 1991, the Carolina Mudcats are entering their 25th straight season of baseball at Five County Stadium in Zebulon, N.C.
