April 19, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Aberdeen Wings News Release

Current Soo Eagles goaltender Chad Catt made a verbal commitment to the University of Michigan Wolverines. Catt, who began this season with the Aberdeen Wings, has been hot of late for the Soo Eagles in the playoffs so far going 3-0-0 with an incredible 0.65 goals against average. He currently has a 98.1% save percentage.

Catt was traded from the Aberdeen Wings to the Soo Eagles this February at the NAHL trade deadline. The 20-year old goaltender began his junior career with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders of the USHL in the 2012-2013 season. Catt played 12 games in the USHL before being moved to the Amarillo Bulls of the NAHL. He would see time in only 4 games. At this time, the Wings made a head coaching change hiring Cedar Rapids RoughRiders assistant coach Travis Winter. Catt was acquired by the Wings from the Amarillo Bulls, rejoining Catt and Winter again. He would go on to finish the 2012-2013 season with 15 games played for the Wings, going 7-6-2 with a 2.77 goals against average. That season, the Wings also acquired goaltender Zach Nagelvoort, who would go 8-1-1 with a 1.66 goals against average. After the season, Nagelvoort committed to the University of Michigan Wolverines.

In the 2013-2014 season, Catt remained with the Aberdeen Wings going 18-11-3 with a 2.18 goals against average. That season, Catt would also share time in the crease with goaltender Henry Dill who would go 20-7-1 with a 2.26 goals against average. During the season, Dill made his commitment to the University of Massachusetts Minutemen.

Catt returned to Aberdeen for his final junior season. He would go 8-13-1 with a 2.84 goals against average in 22 games played before being traded to the Soo Eagles. Coach Anzalone said on 'Wings Weekly' that the move was mutual. The Wings would move forward with goaltender Andrew Shortridge who was 15-15-1 with a 2.57 goals against average. Shortridge committed to Division-I Quinnipiac.

Catt finished the 2014-2015 season with the Soo Eagles going 7-4-3 with a 2.25 goals against average. The Eagles are currently in the NAHL Playoffs, and will be taking on the Janesville Jets in Round 2 for the North Division Championship. Catt will look to remain solid as he is 3-0-0 with a 0.65 goals against average in the 2014-2015 playoffs.

Catt's commitment to the University of Michigan will reunited him with former Wings goaltender Zach Nagelvoort. The two played together for the Wings in the 2012-2013 season. Nagelvoort was a 4th round draft pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 2014.
