Miles Nordgren joins Kernels from Extended Spring Training

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Minnesota Twins announce that RHP Miles Nordgren will join the Kernels from Extended Spring Training in Fort Myers, FL. Brad Steil, Director of Minor League Operations for the Twins, announced the move.

The Twins selected Nordgren in the 23rd round of the 2014 First Year Player Draft out of Birmingham Southern College. He posted a 1-3 record and 2.23 ERA in 16 games (one start) and three saves with the GCL Twins. In 44.1 IP, he allowed 17 runs (11 earned) and 48 hits, walking eight and striking out 20.

With today's transaction, the Kernels roster is at the MWL maximum of 25 active players with eight players currently on the DL and one player on the restricted list.

The Kernels continue a six game road trip today at 2:00 PM against the Burlington Bees. They return home on Friday, April 24th and open a three game home stand against the Kane County Cougars.
